I was surprised that again I came in at #14 for the month of February in the latest MLBBlog latest leaders.

Great!   Thank you those that visit my blog and those that found it while searching something I had here!

Last month when I came in at #14 for the month of January I dedicated the post to Gil Hodges.

This time I will dedicate it to #14 Mike Scioscia!

A skinny Mike Scioscia with a skinny Tommy Lasorda

I got this signed by Mike prior to a game.

Mike was the best blocking home plate!  I sat behind home plate in the Loge level for two years (1981 & 1982) watching him play.

Here ist to you Mike!  Wish you were still with the Blue!

I am missing my lemonade from Camelback Ranch

Again, thank you everyone that stops by here.  Thank you Mark for doing the Latest Leaders list.

2012 in review

What a wonderful surprise from WordPress!  Thank you!  and thank you to my top 5 commenters:

1. Jeff and Al of Red State Blue State.  I will miss reading their posts on the Cardinals and Tigers here in the MLB Blogs.   Good luck my friends.

2.  Kristen, a devoted Angel fan from her blog This is a Very Simple Game.  Love reading all she has to say about baseball her Angels and Dodgers too.  Also love reading about the  wines she is savoring.

3.  Mateo, love his ball hawking and his videos.  His last post from Target Field in the snow was great!   Minnesota looked so cold.  Glad I visited it in the Summer. Good luck in college kid!

4.  Russel of Wrigley Regular.  His tribute to Donnie Moore was touching.  I had forgotten he had committed suicide.

5.  Minoring in Baseball.  If you want to check minor league ballparks, check out Mike’s blog.  His trips with his kids are perfect.

A big thank you to all that visit my blog!  Here is to a great 2013! Cheers!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 44,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 10 Film Festivals

MLB Blog Latest Leaders for Oct & Nov. 20/20 for me

Our fearless leader Mark was  a month late sending us the October MLB Blog ranking.  That is OK, Mark, we waited patiently, right?  December 4th, Mark posted two blog posts with the latest MLB Blog leaders, one for October and one for November.    I came in at #20 for both months!

I did not know this rule on wine:

The 20/20 rule is an easy way to remember:

  • Chill White Wine in the the refrigerator  and pull it out 20 minutes before serving.
  • Put your Red Wine in the the refrigerator  20 minutes before serving.

article here:http://www.sterlingwineonline.com/articles/article/4555825/20-20-rule-wine-serving-temperature.htm

I also found this :-)

Haha, OK,  enough of wine, let’s dedicate this post to two Dodgers that wore #20

#20 Don Sutton!

My!  What big hears you have Mr. Sutton!

Don Sutton had 12 seasons with 15 or more wins, 20 seasons with 200+ innings, and 21 seasons with 100+ strikeouts.  He was  elected to the HOF in 1998 in his fifth year of eligibility.

 #20 Charles Benjamin Osgood

Charles Osgood was born in Massachusetts on November 23, 1926.  At the age of 17, he debuted for the Brooklyn Dodgers on June 18, 1944  in a road doubleheader  against the Philadelphia Phillies.   He pitched three innings of relief in one of the games, allowing six baserunners but only one  earned run.

OK, I have searched high and low for a picture of Charles Benjamin Osgood but I came up empty! Nada!   I only find the other Charles Osgood.

The Last Regular Games at Dodger Stadium

I am getting sad that is the next to the last game at Dodger Stadium.   No matter what like Frank Sinatra’s song said “It was a good year”    Dodgers have new owners and will put a good product on the field.

This year my friends and I went to Spring Training for the first FanFest there.   It was six women and a guy in a van.  What fun hat trip was!

pictures from that trip here:  http://crzblue.mlblogs.com/?s=six+women+and+a+man

Three of us returned to Spring Training to watch a few games.   We went to the four game series in San Diego that started with Opening Day there.   San Diego is always a lot of fun.

Lorena, Rosie and I headed to Seattle.  We saw the Dodgers get no hit by six pitchers but the Dodgers took the series.    Rosie and I went to see our Bums at Cincinnati, a new stadium for the two of us.   In between I went to the SABR convention in Philadelphia, haha I am thinking of next year.  I meant Minnesota where I met up with more friends there and made some new ones.

There were some frustrating losses but win or lose, we love our Boys in Blue!   Last night Rosie, Lorena Pricilla and I were reminiscing about our road trips and hanging out at Dodger Stadium.   There were more good times than bad times.  Maybe I am just remembering the good times.

What a fun game last night!   Boys played like they are capable of playing but now they are running out of time.   Here are some of my pictures from last night’s game.  Some of the pictures Lorena took.   Some days she just says “Give me your camera Emma”  She knows I get busy keeping score and miss some pictures opportunities.

I have not met Cochito Cruz yet.  I don’t have his autograph or a picture with him but maybe tomorrow!  Today I will be at the stadium by game time. (I hope I hope).

Bottom of the 9th, Herrera batting for the pitcher.

Herrera at the plate

Herrera came with this record:

Cochito left him without a shirt?  that is Ok, Cochito gives him his jersey

Boys celebrating the victory over the Giants

Cochito eyeing Herrera being interviewed

Bam!  got you!

Dodgers Win!

Fun fun game!

Oh and prior to the game, I  got interviewed by Ben Platt of MLB :-)  for the MLB Blogs.    I was a tiny little nervous.   The interview took place   of the Dodger Dugout.  Thanks Ben!!  Thanks Mark!!

Let’s Go Reds!   Letg’s go Dodgers!

Splurging on Dugout seats for Wednesday’s game.

Tomorrow Lore, Rosie, Ilda and I splurged buying dugout seats.  We are going to be behind enemy lines but we will be there.   Our friend Jeanine suggested we try some Santeria, voodoo dolls to bring bad luck to the Giants.  haha.
