Dodgers Haikus for Good Luck.

Dodgers losing streak
is at gulp… seven, really??
Let’s stop it tonight!

Are the Dodgers cursed?
If so let’s reverse
and work toward first

Marlins are in town
their record 10-25
Time to beat them down

Magill on the mound
Fernandez for the Marlins
Bums don’t make us frown

Dodgers we beg you
Please start your winnings tonight
We are feeling Blue

I want to hear cheers
Want to hear I LOVE LA
Want to celebrate

tonight be the night
to stop Dodgers losing streak
and start winning feast

But really, is there some kind of curse on the Dodgers? Did it start when Manny Mota stopped being part of the coaching staff? no matter, I hope it stops tonight!

Dodgers Sweep the Rockies. I am just waiting for Monday.

Dodgers Sweep!

Dodgers sweep the Rockies!  Is so good to be seeing the Boys in Blue playing well!   Now the Giants come to town starting tomorrow but before the game…

I am just waiting for Monday.

A few years back I went on a Dodger road trip to Phoenix.  All decked in Dodger blue, my friend Erik and I were having having lunch at the Cheesecake Factory  The waitress asked us if were going to the Dodger game.   We said yes and she said  ”I am just waiting for Monday”

She came back with our drinks and starts talking about being a Cubs fan, about the Cubs in town starting Monday and having tickets for Monday’s game.    After she left,  Erik  says “I thought she was talking about Rick Monday”   I tell him “Mee too!”   and we started  laughing.

It was an inside joke for us.  We would drop the “Iam just waiting for Monday”  and we would start laughing

So why am I saying “I am just waiting for Monday!’   Ben Platts of MLB will interview me for the MLB Blogs!   Is going to be a video interview.

Bobby Castillo back at Dodger Stadium!

I was glad to see Bobby Castillo back at Dodger Stadium!   He had suffered a stroke back in May and had been recuperating.

Bobby threw out the first pictch on Saturday

and Fernando Caught him

Manny Mota also threw out the first pitch on Saturday \

Is Adrian showing Herrera some signals?

The Gran Fiesta: Viva Los Dodgers Review. Dodgers Fan Appreciation Day

La Gran Fiesta: Viva Los Dodgers

The Gran fiesta at Dodger Stadium was so crowded and a little disorganized.   Maybe the Dodgers were not expecting that many people.  They need to expand the area to accommodate the larger crowds.  The lines to get in were extremely long.  They checked your bags and checked that you had a ticket to the game.   After you got in you had to get in line for the autographs.  The lines for Cochito Cruz and Adrian Gonzales were unbelievable long.  They spilled way outside.  The problem was fans that were parking were just getting in line there.  The security guards were not noticing that.   Also I don’t understand how when we were in line outside before 1:30 at the gates by the Pasadena Freeway entrance, by the time we got out of the car the line to get in into La Gran Fiesta, the line circled around!     There were also some regular fans while we were closer to get in that their bags got checked and they let them get in right away.

There should have been a special line for Season Ticket holders.  For us that support the team all year around.      My friends and I (all of us season ticket holders) never made it to get Cochito Cruz or Adrian Gonzales.   By the time we got to the table, there was someone else there.  Fans were asking me who he was.  It was joe Moeller.     Later on someone asked me who were at the other tables.   I know fans should know but you had some fairly new fans, fans that is their first time doing that.   Maybe the Dodgers should have had large name tags made on the computer explaining who were sitting at the tables.

I did see Pepe Yniguez.   Jessica Rosales took this picture where Kenny Landreaux and Pepe were signing.  Thanks Jessica!  I also got Manny Mota and I showed him his picture when he was with the Houston Colts 45′s organization.  Picture posted in prior blog post.

LOS ANGELES DODGERS V COLORADO ROCKIES

Dodgers win consecutive game with another shutout.

Dodgers won against the Rockies on Friday 8-0 with a great performance by Clayton Kershaw.   Blanton pitched a shutout on Saturday with the score of 3-0.   Can the Dodgers pitch another shutout?   TrublueLa, Eric Stephen said that the last time the Dodgers had a shutout sweep of 3+ games was 1966, a 4-game series against the Astros.  Bob Timmermann followed my question of “was this at home or on the road” with  “It was at home.  Osteen and Koufax had shutouts and the other two were combined efforts”   Awesome!  I love these two with all their knowledge!

I settle for a win today no matter the score.   Is amazing how many players hurt the Rockies have.     I have not looked at the records but Dodgers don’t do well on day games so like I said I just want the W.  Go Dodgers!

Fan Appreciation Day

Is Fan Appreciation Day.   Among the prizes are a one year lease on a car.  It used to be that they gave you the car.   Also there are the two season tickets.   The only thing I have won thru all the years I have attended Fan Appreciation Day was a voucher for Panda Express.

I am just waiting for Monday.

I will explain that in my next post, but I am really excited and a little nervous  about this so yes, I am just waiting for Monday!  In the meantime I need to head to the stadium!  Running late so no pictures until my next post.

Dodgers Last Road Series: San Diego

The Dodgers are going into San Diego with a 3-3 road trip record in this their final road trip.   They saw the Nationals and the Reds celebrate winning their division.    I believe this is the first time that I am on the road seeing another team celebrating.

Josh Becket starts tonight against Volquez.

I am not going to this series  but is very tempting to jump into my car and head to San Diego>

It seems not long ago that picture was taken but it was Spring Training when you can see Manny Mota riding his bike.

Second ITD (InsidetheDodgers) Tour

Last year I  included the story about Joe Pierre that Rhett Bollinger of MLB wrote in this post
the Power of a Blog   Joe was invited by the Dodgers to join the first ITD tour.

This year the ITD attendance (like the regular attendance) was smaller but we had a great time!   Several people (Including Josh Suchon of Dodger Talk) asked me why attend the tour when I’am always at the stadium and have taken the tour before (quite a few times).      I think it was mainly to meet up with friends and I can’t pass an opportunity to be at my Blue Heaven on Earth.

Do you find that when re-watching a favorite movie that you notice things that you missed before?  Well, the same thing with taking the tour.   They all have brought something different and heck I don’t get tired of doing it.    A friend of mine who is a Cardinal fan will be visiting in December.   If she wants to do it,  we’ll take the tour.

Thank you so much Josh Rawitch for taking the time to be our tour guide!    One usher that works in the dugout said to me “Why was Josh guiding the tour?  He does not do that.”   I said ”because we are special!”

Here are some pictures.

To the right is the cage where Kirk Gibson hit the most dramatic homerun in Dodger history.  This image of Kirk Gibson pumping his fist along with Mel Didie’s quote was added afterwards.    Kirk Gibson was pleased when he saw it.

I am glad we ran into Manny Mota so that I could tell him what a wonderful job he and Pepe Yniguez are doing on the Spanish TV station.  Thank you so much Manny for spending time with us.  Muchisimas gracias Manny!

I am taking a picture of the mirror image.    Look at the guy with Kershaw’s number 22!  I like how that came out.  Number 22 by the way is the number I came in at in the latest MLB fan blog ranking!    Thank you all that visit my humble blog!
