Hi Five Fife! Hanley you are the man! Dodgers Winning at AT&T Park

Listening to Dodger Talk last night reminded me that yeah, Steven Fife and Federowicz were the two players that the Dodgers got in the three team trade where the Dodgers sent Trayvon Robinson to Seattle.

In his major league debut he had to face Halladay.  He went six inning winning the game 2-1 but the Dodger bullpen gave it away.

He did great but had to be sent back to the minors.

First game at AT&T Park.  Steven Fife against Matt Cain

Scott Elbert went on the DL and Steven Fife was callled back again to face another Perfecto pitcher in Matt Cain.  No problem, Fife again  rose to the occasion.   He had no decision but the Dodgers won the game with Hanley Ramirez hitting his first homerun as a Dodger.  The  two run homerun came in the 10th against Romo.

Final score Dodgers 5, Giants 3.  Rookie Tolleson with the win.  Fife got his first major league hit, a double off Matt Cain.

High Five Fife!

2nd Game at At&T Park:  Billingsley against Zito.

You are the man Billingsley!   Like Jaime Jarrin said “Billingsley ha estado pitchando una jolla de juego”  “Billingsley is pitching a jewel of a game”.

Cochito Luis Cruz extended his hitting streak to 11.  This is the longest hitting streak for a Dodger this year.

The revenge is sweet in Sports.  Dodgers win 10 -0 and now are going for

the sweep tomorrow with Clayton Kershaw

Confession Time & Dodgers at San Francisco

OK, so I have a confession to make.

Back when  Rosie and Lorena were texting me asking me If was going to the Hoedown, I did not know what a hoedown was.    I was thinking  “I know a hoe is some gardening tool and   I know a  hoe is a slang for ….you know… . ”  Then they started talking about BBQ and Lore said something about a cowgirl outfit and cute cowboy boots.  That is when I realized this hoedown must be a cowboy BBQ event with country dancing.

Back then, I had not seen the flyer that Kershaw was hosting this Hoedown for charity.  I have since  blogged about the event.  You can find the flyer in a prior post.

Hope the boys are not thinking of no hoedown.  They lost three out of four from the Cardinals.  Did I ask before why do the Dodgers always play four against the Cardinals?

So  far the Dodger road trip record is 4-3.   Now they are in San Francisco where they have their work cuout facing Cain.   Dodgers are sending rookie Fife who is starting  his second game (0-0 1.50)  *checking MLB At Bat*  Good! scoreless game bottom of the 2nd inning.

I have not been to San Francisco in forever.  Maybe I will make it the weekend in September.   I miss my boys and I miss our Blue Heaven on Earth.   But the boys will be back to Dodger Stadium on Monday 7/30.  In the meantime try your hardest to beat the Giants.

Giant fan Greg  Jezewski and I shaking hands.  See?  A Dodger fan and a Giant fan can get along.

I saw Greg at the Shrine of the Eternals.  This was a great event.  Afterwards about 20 of us went out to dinner.   I was out numbered at the restaurant as there were quite a few Giant fans there.  They were all very nice fans including Arnold Hano (A Day in the Bleachers) who got the Hilda Chester award.   I am behind posting pictures but they are coming.

Let’s Go Dodgers!

Bad Long Spell for the Dodgers. Good Luck Fife!

I thought the All-Star break would work wonders for the Dodgers.  With Andre & Kemp back I thought things were going to start looking better.   but I better stop looking thru this:

Like the LA Times pointed out, they have lost 18 of the last 24!   They ended the first half

game in first place but now they are:

Two games back of the Giants.

I thought the Dodgers were happy to have me back at Dodger Stadium after I went to the SABR convention

they lost two out of three from the Padres.  They lost the first game to the Phillies and tonight the kid  Fife has been called from Albuquerque to replace Billingsley who has gone on the DL with elbow soreness.   the 25 year old Fife will make his MLB debut against gulp…Halladay.

Let’s Go Dodgers!

Let’s Go Fife!

Yeah, I am still looking thru the colored glasses.

Is Beach Chair night tonight!

I anderstand we will get a voucher for the chair and we go pick it up after the game.  For those that only come for the giveaway, they will turn around, pick up their giveaway and leave.   Let’s see how this works picking up the giveaway AFTER the game.  At least the giveaway are not bats or baseballs  givin prior to the game.
