Dodgers win! dodger Win! Capuano went seven innings, giving up one run, seven hits. Belisario with the hold was nasty. Kenley Jansen came in to get get his 12th save. Bonus: He got me a save for my baseball fantasy team Los Locos Azules. good job guys! *applauding*
Final score: Dodgers 3, Angels 1.
Dodgers only got four hits but they came at the top of the lineup with Dee Gordon getting two hits, Hairston one and one for Andre Ethier.
Two errors by Angels in the first inning helped. One error came from Albert Pujols and one from Maicer Izturis. Great defense by the Dodgers with Herrera making a great catch. That was short of being a homerun.
Santana took the loss and Capuano improved his record to 9-2. Congratulaytions Capuano!
Rubber game tomorrow. Aaron Harrang against Garrett Richards.
No Vin Scully in today’s game since it was National Fox but tomorrow Vin comes back!
With the Dodgers White Sox series tied 1-1 the Dodgers took Sunday’s game on Father’s day 2-1.
Saturday night we were complaining about umpire Jerry Meals behind homeplate. Well Meals was the 3rd base umpire on Sunday involved in a contraversial play. With catcher Treanor at third base, one out, Herrera hit a sac fly to right field. Treanor tagged and scored. The White Sox prostested that Treanor left the bag early. Jerry Meals ruled Treanor out. We kept hearing on Twitter and from the announcers that Treanor DID NOT leave the bag too early. In fact some said that Meals was not even looking at the play. Mattingly came out to protest.
Mattingly kept going at it with Jerry Meals and home plate umpire Darling, eventually getting tossed from the game. This was the fourth time this year that Mattingly gets tossed. One of those times was on Mother’s Day.
With as long as it took for Mattingly to complain with the umpires, we could have had a quick examination of the play if we had instant replay.
Both Capuano who struck out 12, and Quintana pitched well going eight innings. Capuano allowed one run and Quintana did not allow any runs. Belisario pitched the 9th for the Dodgers and Reed pitched for the White Sox. Abreu, coming in as a pinch hitter in the 9th, openned with a single. Dee Gordon struck out trying to bunt but Herrera’s single advanced Abreu to third. Rivera sac fly to right field scored Abreu. Game tied with Lorena’s rally cap on!
Belisario came back to pitch the 10th inning, He retired the White Sox in order or like Jaime Jarrin & Pepe Yniguez say “Se fueron a paso de Conga” “they went out doing the Conga
The bottom of the 10th, Loney batted for Belisario. Loney grounded out for the first out. Tony Gwynn tripled, Treanor grounded to the second baseman. Abreu was intentionally walked to face Dee Gordon. Dee responded with a walk-up single.
Dodgers win! Belisario worked a vulture win. His record is now 3-0 coming out of the pen.
Ethier K’d three times but he made three stellar defensive plays. Jaime Jarrin said “a corrido como un pura sangre” “He has run like a thoroughbred”
Quoting Vin Scully at the end of the game “They continue to pull the rabbit out of the hat”
Dodgers day off today. They start a three game series in Oakland.

Chris Capuano must love Dodger Stadium. He i 5-0 at Dodger Stadium. With Sunday’s win he improved his record to 7-1. Mateo Treanor, 36, hit a home run. Is Mateo Treanor Capuano’s personal catcher?
Dodgers improved to a record of 32-15, best record in baseball! Congratulations to Jerry Hairston Jr.,who had a career-high five hits with one double and four singles.
And what about Elian Herrera? He has a nine game hitting streak.
I LOVE LOVE this A.J. Ellis video with Clayton Kershaw

Happy Veterans Day everyone! Thank you all that have served our country!
I posted this two years ago on Memorial day about Poppy flowers and these two Memorial Day poems here http://crzblue.mlblogs.com/2010/05/31/memorial-day-in-flanders-fields-we-shall-keep-the-faith/
I will be wearing a poppy flower to pay tribute to all those that have served our country.
Congratulations to Kershaw for winning the National League Player of the Week honors! Kershaw took the mound twice last week against the DiamondBacks on Monday and on Saturday against the Cardinals. He pitched 7 scoreless innings against the Snakes and a complete game 9 inning shutout agains the Cardinals. The shutout extended Kershaws scoreless innings streak to 22, dating back to his May 8 start vs. the Giants.
Dodgers are in Phoenix playing the Snakes. With Capuano on the mound, the Dodgers defeated Corbin and the Snakes by the score of 6-1. Capuano’s record is the same as yesterday’s score 6-1. Harang takes the mound tonight against Kahill.
When Treanor hit the homerun yesterday I was thinking to myself “Boy, this team reminds me of the 1988 team” I was listening to the first innings on the radio on my way home. When I got home my brother Victor made the same comment. I am sure is in a lot of Dodger fans that this team resembles 1988. I want to be cautious but I love how the replacement players are stepping up.
Is scary to think that Mark Ellis could have lost his leg. Vin Scully said that the doctors said that Six more hours and they would hae had to amputate if it wasn’t for the Dodger trainer’s decision to send him to the hospital. Get better Mark Ellis.
The Kings are also in Phoenix! They lead the series 3-1 against the Coyotes. Get it done Kings! I LOVE LA! Go Kings! Go Dodgers!
I will see the games on delay when I get home. I am heading to Pasadena to have dinner and see Howie Levine sing. Some of you might know Howie. He works at Dodger Stadium and occasionally sings the National Anthem and God Bless America.

What do Jamey Moyer
and beautiful Dodger Stadium have in common?
They both turn 50 this year! Jamey on November 18, 1962. You two look wonderful!
the matchup for tonight is 49 year old Jamey Moyer against Chris Capuano. Every Friday is Fireworks night. The last one was set to the 60’s music. It should have been today with Jamey on the mound but tonight the fireworks will be set to the 70’s music.
I wonder what song Nancy Bea will be playing for Jamey Moyer. I am sure it would be a good one. Too bad I only get to listen to Vin Scully for the first three innings but I am taping the game! I want to hear what Vin says about Moyer.
This from Lew Freeman of http://www.calltothepen.com after Moyer became the oldest MLB pitcher to win a Major League game:
Now that Moyer has wrested the old-age record for pitching a winning game from Jack Quinn it’s time to meet Satchel Paige. At his moment of victory, Moyer was 49 years, 150 days old. Too bad he won’t make it to 50 this season. That would be cool. Quinn was 49 years, 70 days old when he won a game for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1932. Although he did not figure in the decision, Paige was 59 years old when he threw three innings in a game in 1965 for the Kansas City Athletics.
Looking forward to Rockies Dodgers matchup tonight of Jamey Moyer against Chris Capuano. Capuano bring his 4-0 record. Go Dodgers!
