Short Video telling Vin Scully “Thank you!” and “We Love you!”

What  a great day it was Friday night when Vin Scully announced that he is coming back next year for his 63rd year with the Dodgers! At the time of the announcement the Dodgers were losing 1-0. Next inning the Dodgers like if they knew, stared hitting.
.
Dodgers score 6 runs in the 7th with Matt Kemp launching his 30th home run to join Raul Mondesi as the only members of the 30-30 club.  Matt Kemp  now has 31 stolen bases.
.
After the game I just had to go tell Vin Scully thank you for making the decision to come back for one more season. We Dodger fans are blessed to have Vin Scully with us for 62+ years.   Here is the short video that my friend Lorena taped:

Thank you Lorena!

Here is another video telling Vin we Love him.

Well I am off to Dodger Stadium early today as I am a volunteer for SABR today to recruit new members.   Come stop by in the Reserved section.

Beer Road Trip for the Dodgers but I am heading to New York

I leave tomorrow morning for New York!  I am excited about my trip!   I will be staying with my friend Abby who I met at the SABR41 convention in Long Beach, CA.  Abby is a Yankee fan.   Yankees are away so what she planned first is to watch a Brooklyn Cyclone game on Thursday evening.

The forecast while I am there is:  Isolated thunder storms.   Thunder storms is one thing that I am afraid of but I’ll try not to have it bother me  *crosses fingers*

Saturday we will be going to Citi Field for a SABR/Baseball Prospectus event.  Details here http://sabr.org/node/2339 then watch the Mets against the Brewers.   Abby convinced me to go after she so nice to offer for me to stay with her.   I don’t know what else she has made plans for but whatever it is I am looking forward to it all!

The Beer Road Trip for my Dodgers and some Dodger fans.

My boys are in Milwaukee until Thursday, then they fly to Colorado for a three game weekend series then is on to ST Louis.  I was trying to workout my flight to maybe stop at Milwaukee first or St Louis at the end but too complicated.   My friend William (Deuce’s dad) told me “Emma, I got tickets for you if you want to go to St Louis.   He is on the road to St Louis.  Last time I checked he was in Oklahoma, home of Matt Kemp.   Here is Deuce:

I’ve taken a tour of Coors Brewery in Colorado and of Anheuser Bush when I was in St Louis but never been to Milwaukee.   Several people sported Dodger tattoos.Friend Cindy (see her Dodgers tatoo)  and her husband are driving to Colorado to see the Dodgers there.

Friend Cynthia who is an usher at Dodger Stadium is also going to Colorado but she is landing there then renting a car to go to Mount Rushmore.  I never been there.   I might run into her in Denver as I am making a stop there.   She might be catching a game on her way back to Colorado.   You all have a safe trip and see you all back at Dodger Stadium!

Start spreading the news….New York New York..

Dodger “Think Clue” Scavenger Hunt

Saturday August 8th, the Dodgers held a special Scavenger hunt throughout Los Angeles.   I decided to participate but I was not as prepared as some other fans.  Some anticipated locations.  A father and son decided to start at the LA Coliseum so they guessed one of the locations.  Another one decided to already start at the Universal City Walk where there is a Dodger Store but that was not one of the locations.

At 10:00 a.m. the Dodgers sent a tweet with the locations where five special Dodger Items were “hidden” throughout Los Angeles.  the locations were:

Dodger Stadium, parking lot P by the Top of the Park where Kenny Landreaux was with the 1981 World Series trophy.

Duke Snider Bobblehead was located at Vin Scully’s star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame

All participants got a pair of tickets that we selected from the list.  Tickets will be on Will Call on day of game.    I had fun doing this and will do it again if the Dodgers offer it again.

The top five winners received two field-level tickets to each game during the club’s upcoming six-game homestand (Aug 8-14) and will be brought down onto the field prior to a designated game to meet Dodgers manager Don Mattingly and watch batting practice.

Team Penguino took first place and Steve Chai’s team took second.  Another winner was team Attamiamo and Ayala.
