MLB Takes Over the Dodgers
I am stunned! I’ve been in meetings at work all day long when I started getting updates in my cellphone about MLB taking over the Dodgers. I know I should not be stunned when Frank McCourt had to take a 30 million loan to pay the payroll last week.
I’ve been super busy that I have not updated my blog since Jackie Robinson Day. I am sad because of the status of the Dodgers, once a proud organization, having to get reduced to this.
Well, heading to the stadium in hopefully 20 minutes.
Lots to talk about at the stadium. The crowds have been small. Lots of cops there and I expect lots of media today.
Tonight matchup: Garland versus Derrek Lowe.

The divorce is getting really nasty and I think MLB did the right thing.

Hi Emma, tough brakes for such a historic organization. The one thing that stood out for me was that its only the 3rd time in history anything of this magnitude has happened to a MLB franchise. Hopefully, where ever the team lands its with an owner that likes to win. My Oakland A’s owners are penny pinchers to the end.

Yes, MLB did the right thing. Bud Selig should have never allowed the McCourts to purchase the Dodgers when they had to take loans to make that purchase.

Thank you so much. I do admire teams like the A’s that with a small payroll, they manage the team so well but something needs to be done so that teams with a low payroll have a chance. It is not fair for fans. Good luck to your A’s.

This is a good thing, but is sad that the organization had to dragged thru this. Our teams meet foru a three game series! In a couple of hours they will be playing.

A friend was asking me what I gave up for Lent. I said sodas and another friend said “You should have given up baseball” my response: “NO! I can’t give up that!”
I love my MLB at bat! I get to listen to the game while being at work! Also I love that I can follow it at the stadium and watch replays!
I am so sorry your team is going through so much turmoil right now. This must have been shocking news, but maybe a little bit of a relief too? I hope that whatever Selig does from here on out, it only makes the Dodgers stronger – the players, staff and fans deserve no less.

If this will be good for the Dodgers in the long run, then I guess you take the good with the bad. On a good note, the Great Lakes Loons are tearing up the Midwest League again, so LA must have some good prospect there.

Thanks Kristen. Yes, we faithful Dodger fans deserved better. Dodgers have not won a World Series since 1988, yet the attendance is 3 million + every year. We deserved better!

You got even with the win today. Very frustrated loss for the Dodgers when I thought it was in the bag. But you can’t assume anything in this game. Good come back by the Cubs. Let’s see what happens in the rubber game tomorrow.

there have been a lot of things that have not been disclosed to the Dodger Blue family.
Did you know Frank McCourt actually wanted to borrow an amount equal to his 10 year contract with Fox Sports, but MLB stepped in becuase he was going to make the team financially crippled in that 10 year period to pay his salaries today.
Then again, not many people borrow money by using their parking lots as collateral, then have them repossessed…so to speak.
The house of cards was going to come tumbling down. It might be the best thing for McCourt once his ego understands it is not personal, it is a business decision.
But then again, hopefully someone will step forard and offer their support or dollars to get McCourt and the Dodgers out of the red.
This team looks terrible in red.

All we want is the best for the Dodgers and McClourt has not been the answer so the sooner he leaves the better. Borrowing and McCourt’s name go hand in hand.
