25 game hitting streak for Andre Ethier

Dodgers came home to the Ravine for a six game home series against the Padres and Cubs after going .500 on the road. They came back with a record of 13 wins and 13 losses for the year and it would have been a loss had Tony Gwynn Jr not saved Broxton’s bacon with a fantastic catch in the outfield.

Where Broxton has been frustrating the fans, Andre has been a hitting machine with his 25 game hitting streak. Thought the hardest would have been last night’s Padre lefty pitcher Richards. Congratulations Andre! We’ll be at the Ravine cheering on your streak!

Hey I noticed the middle sign has changed from Trader Joes to Universal Studios. Here you can see it better with Pau Gasol giving us the Dodgers Code of Conduct.

From the last homestand of the throwback game with the Braves, the sign had Trader Joes in the middle.

Another throwback game coming up Wednesday with the Cubs. Curious to see the Cubs throwback uniform. In the meantime, is Kuroda on the mound tonight. Go Dodgers! Go Andre!

Dodgers let one get away at Wrigley

I really thought the Dodgers had this Saturday game wrapped when the score was Dodgers 8, Cubs 5 but the bullpen let it get away when the Cubs scored five runs in the 8th. Final score: Cubs 10, Dodgers 8. LP: Guerier. WP: Jeff Samardzija (had to look how to spell that!)

Dodgers are now at 500 with 11 wins, 11 losses. Dodgers faired the same in the last homestand with 4 wins and 4 losses when they met with the Cardinals and Braves in a four game series with both teams. They lost the series with the Cardinals and won it against the Braves.

The last homestand saw the arrival of Jerry Sands, the minor league player of the year in 2010. Jerry got his first major league hit in his first game. We were all chanting “Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Jer-ry!” a la Jerry Springfield everytime he was coming to bat or he was recording an out at Left Fied. Jerry also got his first major league beanball (he ducked) off Tim Hudson.

I was one of the many Dodger fans that got interviewed at Dodger Stadium to give our opinion about Bug Selig taking over over seeing the Dodgers: Here is a link to the interview from KCAL channel 9 which is owned by CBS. You have to click on one of videos about fans being interviewed at the stadium

Friends on Facebook told me they saw this picture in the LA Times sport section online. I am taking a picture of Deuce with Jerry Sands.

Here is the picture I took:

Rubber game on this Easter Sunday is so far Dodgers 6, Cubs 2. No lead is enough with our bullpen so Go Kuroda-san! Go Dodgers! 21 game hitting streak for Andre Either!

Happy Easter Sunday!

MLB Takes Over the Dodgers

I am stunned! I’ve been in meetings at work all day long when I started getting updates in my cellphone about MLB taking over the Dodgers. I know I should not be stunned when Frank McCourt had to take a 30 million loan to pay the payroll last week.

I’ve been super busy that I have not updated my blog since Jackie Robinson Day. I am sad because of the status of the Dodgers, once a proud organization, having to get reduced to this.

Well, heading to the stadium in hopefully 20 minutes.

Lots to talk about at the stadium. The crowds have been small. Lots of cops there and I expect lots of media today.

Tonight matchup: Garland versus Derrek Lowe.

Jackie Robinson Day

Today we honor Jackie Robinson! This is a day I always look forward to attending at Dodger Stadium. I am proudly wearing my Jackie Robinson jersey at work and aftewards I will head out to Dodger Stadium to honor Jackie!

Thank you Jackie! Your breakthrough had an effect not just on baseball but you paved the way for a change in American society.

At the bottom of my work emails, you always get:
“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives. -Jackie Robinson”

Today in honor of Jackie Robinson, make your life important by having a positive impact on the life of someone else.

I would like to see Tax Day moved from April 15th to the following day so that we can only associate April 15th with Jackie Robinson.

I am running a report on new hires at work. How appropriate that I am getting 42 new hires! Happy #42 Jackie Robinson Day!

Pictures from Petco Park 4/9/11

Greetings from San Diego!
We got two games for the price of one! the Friday suspended game, a 2-2 tie, picked up from the 9th inning with Matt Kemp on base and no outs. Final score: Dodgers 4, Padres 2 in the 11th. W: Hawksworth (1-0) L: Frieri (0-1) SV: Broxton (4)

After a delay of 25 minutes, the second game started. Kuroda san was magnificient shutting down the Padres for 8 and 2/3 innings. Tony Wynn had a big night too.

Dodgers Fans against Stadium Violence

From the Divisionarivalry.com where I purchased my Vin Scully t-shirt:

Divisional Rivalry Shirts have teamed up with “Dodger Fans
against Stadium Violence” to make some Tees available to purchase to show
we do NOT promote Stadium Violence. What happened on 3/31/2011 is
unacceptable. It’s ALL for the LOVE and SUPPORT of Baseball and your team
and should not go beyond that. The proceeds of these shirts will be donated
to help Bryan Stow and his family.

A women’s size is in the works.

Note: The reward to capture the rats (ratas con dos patas) that did this to Bryan Stow is up to 100,000.

Thoughts and Prayers to Bryan Stow

My thoughts and prayers go to Giant fan Bryan Stow who is fighting for his life in a coma after he was beaten at Dodger Stadium on Opening Day.

At the moment we cannot post pictures since the MLB blog is under construction so here is the link of the sketch of the two guys that assaulted Bryan Stow. The suspects are believed to be between 18 to 25 years.

update: Picture is working now.

suspects.jpg

I hope they find the two criminals that did this to this poor guy.

At this time, the reward is up to 50,000. Dodgers Spokesman Josh Rawitch said Monday the team will contribute $25,000. Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter said the team will pledge $10,000.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich previously offered a reward of $10,000 for information leading to arrests in the beating case.

American Medical Response, the paramedic company Stow worked for, is also offering a $5,000 reward.

God hear our prayers on the recovery of Bryan Stow.
