Spring Training 2011 Camelback Ranch Pictures. Part One.

On Sunday February 27th, Camelback was opened around 10:30 A.M.  Usually they open at 9 AM.

When we went in the boys were exercising

I ran into Jose Mota of the Angels talking to his dad Manny Mota of the Dodgers.   Jose was on the outside of the fence.

I spotted Mike Scioscia signing autographs so I headed to the visitor’s dugout.  He signed my Union 76 giveaway pictures from back in his playing days.

Jason:  It was great that you got to serve as the bat boy!

Andre Ethier!

As bat boy Jason was getting back to the dugout after giving the umpire some baseballs we yelled “LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BAT BOY!”   Jason  turned around and waived.   Some fans behind the Dodger dugout turned to see who was yelling that.

Looks like you had a terrific time, Emma. The weather seems to have cooperated too!

What great pictures! It looks like you guys had the best time! …a much better time watching that game than I did anyway, LOL. What did Scioscia say when he saw the old Union 76 giveaway? That’s a great keepsake. And it’s fun that you ran into Jose Mota and his daddy. I’ve always loved all of the Angles/Dodgers connections.

This is a very simple game…

Thanks Russel. Lots of blue ha?
.
We had a wonderful time Jane!

Kristen,
We got into a friendly badgering with an Angel fan. I told him at least he was smart enough to get a Dodger fan as a wife ;-) Scioscia did not say anything as he was talking with a friend as he was signing. He must see plenty of him as a Dodger from Dodger fans. Me too, love the Dodgers/Angels connections.

Ahh, such nice sunny weather! I’m surprised the stands look so empty. Nonetheless, it must have been pure bliss to enjoy live baseball again!

Rants, Raves, and Random Thoughts

Sue,
I was a little surprised too to find the stands so empty. I think it was in 6,000 on Sunday and those numbers dropped a lot during the week, but I love it there during the week with the smaller crowds.
I think is the imigration laws in AZ. Some people refuse to go to AZ until they revise the laws. Gas is also expensive in the LA area where we are paying almost $4 a gallon. We also noticed an increase in hotel rates.

Looks like you soaked up the sun on a beautiful day. Those drinks look extremely refreshing, and I’m glad the Dodgers won for you.

WLR,
It rained Saturday night and up until 7 AM on Sunday. That is why they did not open till 10:30 for the fans to watch the workouts. But after that it was beautiful. I am craving one of those fresh lemonades right now.

Ron,
We did not want to leave the place! We were talking about calling work and saying that we needed to be quarantined in AZ because we caught a cactus fever that was contagious.

Hi Emma,
It was nice seeing you last Sunday. Yes, I did hear you guys cheering for me – it helped make the experience even more memorable! I wish I could’ve thrown some baseballs out to you all :) I’m glad you all had a great time and I’ll see you at Dodger Stadium!
Take care, Jason

Jason,
We were just happy seeing you being a bat boy. What a experience for you! Let me know when you write about it!
Thanks for stopping by! and yes, see you at Dodger Stadium!
