Vin Scully and Fans at Camelback Ranch
Tony Barrial started this on facebook:
Vinny’s 60th Dodger season deserves a salute. SO at the bottom of the 4th EVERY HOME GAME in 2010; before the Dodgers UP; All fans stand up, face the pressbox and chant Vinny until stadium is chanting and Nancy starts to play “It Had To Be You!”
Tony: Is actually 61th Dodger season.
The fans started it last Sunday on Vin’s first game at Camelback! I can’t wait to be at the Dodger Stadium so we can start the chant “Vinny, Vinny, Vinny…”
“I’m supposed to cut back on dangling participles and I’m not allowed to split any infinitives for at least another week,” Vin Scully told news reporters inside the Dodgers spring training complex in Glendale, Az.
Here is a picture as posted by the great Dodger photographer Jon So Hoo:
VIN SCULLY! WE LOVE YOU!!
Also, from my trip at Camelback a few weeks ago, here is a youtube of the Boilers Dodger club fans shot by Roberto of Vinscullyismyhomeboy when I was at Camelback:
Earlier I had taken this picture outside by the roped area.

I had never heard of the this Dodger club until I saw them at Camelback Ranch.
Nice pictures Emma, Vin Scully looks pretty good and a question Emma are you part of the boilers ?
Hey Bluedog,
Yes, Vin looks pretty good and sounded very good on Sunday!
No, I am not part of the Boilers. I had not heard of them before. I am a member of the Dodger Booster club though. My favorite part of the being a member of that club is the volunteering for the annual Blood Drive.
Great pics of the Boilers! And very cool that everybody will be chanting Vin’s name in the fourth inning. Love that.

All Hail Vin Scully!! Glad he’s back. He looks great.
Mike
Emma, I’ll admit Vin has never been my favorite announcer (you know Harry Kalas will always be #1 with me), but that quote of his is pretty funny! Glad he is OK.

Thanks Jane! Their shirt in the back read Spring Training then listed all the years since 1998. Can’t wait to join in the chant “Vinny! Vinny! Vinny!.
.
Doesn’t he Mike! that picture reasurred me he is fine.
.
Sue!
Saw the quote in the USA Today on the train and I updated the entry! He made me laugh. I can understand about Kalas. I remember I found out about Kalas at the stadium during our Opening day game last year.
As much as I should HaTe Mr. Scully, I cannot he is a legend and still enjoyable to listen to.
I despise everything else about the Dodger franchise (except a few clever Dodger blogs).

Having grown up with Vin on KABC Talkradio 79 and KTTV 11 (I’m still a Reseda boy – the locale is different), I heard about the fall and thought “No, he’s not done with us, yet!” Sure enough, he looks healthy and the voice is still unmistakably Vin.
We can’t lose him, yet.

I’m glad Vin is back because he really is a living legend but I really dislike how he dyes his hair. It looks awfully fake, there, Vinny. Come on! Be natural!

Hey Emma! Thanks for the comment. I loved your story about your season tickets a few years ago. Makes me feel a little less silly. I love talking to other ppl with a passion for baseball. =)
So excited for the season to start! I’m glad Vin Scully is better I got so scared when I heard he was in the hospital.

Shawn,
I feel the same way you feel about Scully about Jon Miller! And I love to hate the Jints but like the bantering with Giant bloggers here 😉 Looking forward to reading more in your blog!
.
Oh Jeff, who is natual this day? Wait until you are a certain age.
.
Kristy,
Glad to hear another fan that get a little crazy when her season tickets arrived. And I totally can ID with the character in Fever Pitch.
That is what is great about this MLBlogs community. We understand each others love for our team. There are many of us!
?Que’ tal, Emma?
I’m REALLY glad Vin is doing better, and that his injuries do not seem to be serious. We don’t need to lose HIM this year!
Saw your entry on your signed ball! WOW! Color me jealous! 😉 !FELICIDADES! Great cause Joe Torre has going!
I hope you and Julia can meet up during InterLeague!
Talk to you again sometime! !Luego! 🙂
Congrats to Vin on 60 years! Always enjoyed his broadcasts!
Randy,
I too grew up (well after I came to this country) with KABC with Bud Furillo (RIP), Rick Talley (RIP) and Geoff Witcher and also channel 11. Remember those cartoons with Vin in “Sundays with Vin”? I work in the San Fernando valley and live the San Gabriel valley. All LA county! We LOVE LA!
And no, Randy! We Can’t lose Vin yet!
.
Muy Bien Greg! Como estas vos?
Vin looked marvelous Sunday! Therefore we are all marvelous!

You wrote on my blog to ask if I was following the spring games. I am following the games.
Matt,
He sure looks great! I sure hope that he makes unforgettable calls.
.
Adam,
That would be great! I can’t listen to the games at work so I am going to rely on game thread. I’ll write to you!
Thanks for the reply. Please save my email address and delete that comment if you get a second. I don’t like it laying around like that but I didn’t know any other way to get you to contact me.
Hey Emma,
Did you here about the city and LAPD having a no tolerance this year for tailgating on opening day? I know tailgating is “officially” illegal at Dodger Stadium, but they usually look the other way on Opening Day. Not this year. Kind of a bummer, but then again they can’t be EVERY where, right?? 😉

Aducker,
Done! Thanks!
.
Rob,
I have not heard that! Oh Boy! There is a lot of taigating on Opening Day! Lots of those motor homes parked inside have it. I have been invited to one but I just can’t wait to get inside the stadium so I don’t go. Yeah, they can’t be everywhere! LOL. What about at the parks around the stadium. There are major picnics there! And you have to show very early to select a spot.
