Dodger Caravan! Happy birthday dad.

Dodger Caravan has been announced!

Caravans are great! The best one was in 2008 at Panda Inn where James Loney and Andre Ethier were our waiters! It was AWESOME having them say to us “Is there anything else I can get you?’

The open to the public events provide the best opportunities to meet players and receive autographs. Fans should keep in mind, however, that even though the Dodgers will limit the number of autographs a fan can receive to ensure that as many are accommodated as possible, the club cannot, of course, guarantee everyone an autograph, as attendance will determine the number of fans the Dodgers can accommodate. The Dodgers will also hand out a limited quantity of Dodger promo items and ticket vouchers to fans in attendance at Trader Joe’s, Dodgers Dreamfield Dedication Ceremony at Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club, ESPN Zone @ L.A. LIVE, Roscoe’s, House of Chicken and Waffles, Best Buy and Olvera Street.

Happy birthday dad.  My dad Pedro would have been  79 today January 23rd.   He passed away 5 years this June.   My mom passed away when I was three.  How hard it must have been for dad to lose her with two kids to take care.   I had this picture painted from black and white pictures.   The painter did an incredible job.

Happy birthday to your father! I’m sure he’s happy and proud of you where ever he is now… (and I bet he was a Dodger fan, eh?). The caravans are always fun. I grew doing the Cardinals Caravan as a kid. Good times!

Thanks Jeff! No, he was not a baseball fan. Back in Honduras soccer is the big sport but he knew about my love for the Dodgers. Unfortunately we never went to a game together. I would have loved to have been at a game with him explaining everything and showing him everything.
Caravans are great! The best one was in 2008 at Panda Inn where James Loney and Andre Ethier were our waiters! It was AWESOME having them say to us “Is there anything else I can get you?’

Beautiful portrait of your parents and Happy Birthday to your dad – wherever he is, as Jeff said! The caravans sound amazing. I wouldn’t mind A-Rod asking me, “Is there anything else I can get you?” LOL.

Emma,
I simply love that the caravan is heading to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. Seriously, some of the locations I see on other teams sites just do not look fun for the players and the fans.
That looks like a fun time could be had by all there.
Plus going to ESPN and Trader Joe’s sounds great.
It would be so fun to have them as my waiter.
I know my date would maybe drop a fork or two and make them bend over (lol), but me….I would just relish the time spent with great people.
Hope you get to go to multiples this year, and can get a photos and some great conversation.

Happy Birthday to your father, that is a fantastic painting and I’m sure your father would be very happy with the painting and you, as Jeff and Jane have said.

Thanks Jane! I am sure you would like to have A.Rod ask you that! I looked at my friend Lore when the guys said that and she just had this look on her face. I am mine was similar.
.
Cliff. hm you should have given that idea of dropping my fork before! lol Besides the Chicken and Wafles which are great as I’ve eaten there before I am looking forward to some of the other events that are open to the public.
.
FBC,
Dad did see the portrait but only as a picture.
.
Matt,
I am looking foward to your stories. You as well as many here have such a way with words. I am lucky to read you all.
.
As many of you can imagine, my dad was extra especial to me. Feliz cumpleanos papa.

That is very sad about your mom. Your dad must of been a really busy man. Happy Birthday to your dad!

Thanks 10Indians. As a kid, I did not realize it but as I grew older I started understanding him more and realizing what great pain that was for him. My aunt said I was actually two when my mom passed away. It was weird when I started being older than she ever was.

!Feliz cumpleanos a tu papa’! The painting is REALLY great! It can only be better viewing it in person! Thanks for sharing it!
It is cool that the Caravan is going to Roscoe’s! I remember the one in Pasadena fondly–I ate there a few times when I lived in Pasadena in the mid-90’s (my wife’s favorite type of dinner!) Trader Joe’s ain’t bad, either–I wish we had one in our area. !La’stima! ;)
(Yes, I do speak Spanish. I was even nicknamed “Gringorio” by a colleague when I lived in Mexico.) ;)
I’ll look forward to your entry on the Brooklyn Dodgers, also!
!Que’ te vaya bien, Emma! Take care!

Thanks Greg! Hey! you even got the accent! I am impressed! The guy did a good job and he did it from black and white pictures.
.
I’ve been to the one in Pasadena. I took a friend there that lives in Pasadena but she had never even noticed the place even living kinda close to it. I LOVE Trader Joe’s! Trader Jose! and also Two Buck-Chuck. Gringorio! LOL! Yeah, I still have not finished with my Brooklyn Dodger posts. Thanks for reminding me that is in the works!

!Feliz Cumple’ano! I wanna hop a flight and check out the Caravan! I just know you’ll be taking incredible pictures.

Hey Mike!
I am going to to try to get some good pictures! I am just thrilled that the rally will be in at Olvera Streett. Is about time for them to do it close to the stadium!
We saw the sun yesterday but still the low temp was 39! and after all the rain we saw this big yellow round ball in the sky! I was told is called a sun.
.
It sure does 10Indian!

WOW! Sounds like SO much fun! I hope you have a blast meeting with players and all that good stuff! Have a blast :D

Happy belated birthday to your father as well

Thanks Mimi! I should check the Angel website for info on their fanfest or Caravan. I would love for Mike Scioscia to autograph a picture of him that I have from back in his playing days. He was a favorite of mine back then

Love the off-season stuff..players are usually relaxed and will chat with you.
And Happy B-day to your Dad!
