A Split & 90090

We split the 4 game series with the Phillies!   I watched 3 of the 4 from my beloved Dodger Stadium.  I had to miss Sunday’s game as I had an early flight to N.H. where I am working this week.  I will miss the two game series this week with the Padres.   Dodgers have two days off this week (Monday & Thursday).

Andre Ethier had two Walk-offs!   Friday night it was in the 9th inning and Saturday afternoon in the 12th innings!   It was so incredible watching the walk-offs at the stadium and walking down the row hi-fiving everyone!

Earlier before the Saturday game, Dodger Stadium officially got their own zip code!   90090!  After watching the official presentation on the field, I headed upstairs to my seat when I noticed that representatives of the post office were selling player’s stamps with the official zeal.  I bought one from each player they had (9) and I also bought a cool envelope and a set of 50 anniversary Dodger postcards that I had them add the zeal.  In addition, I had my ticket stamped.   Check it out!  I love, love this stamp collection!

I landed at Logan airport only to discover that my luggage did not make it.  My co-worker’s luggage arrived but not mine.  American airline (evil) said they’ll deliver it to the hotel which is about one hour away from Logan.   They also said they stopped delivering at 11:p.m. so I bought me the essentials to get me bybut I am not happy :-(.   I sure hope my luggage is at the hotel by the time I get back from work Monday evening.

My wife and I went to the tropical island of Dominica for our honeymoon a few years back and our luggage didn’t arrive. I tried to get vouchers or some kind of refund from American Airlines for the trip but they wouldn’t give in. Conveniently we were able to buy all the things we needed to survive for a few days for about 4x the regular price on the Island.

Finally our luggage arrived about 1 week into the trip. Choosing whether or not to fly American Airlines as often in the future? That was easy. Surviving on 1 pair of underwear for a week in the jungle? That was hard.

    Go Dodgers.

Ouch aducker! so you were doing your own laundry every night? Unfortunately I cannot change the airline since it gets booked thru work.

    Kaybee,
Is cool that now I can type the zip code and get weather report from that exact location. Having the stadium up in the hills, the temperature can be quite different.

I hope you get your luggage, Emma! I hate when that happens. I’m praying Delta doesn’t do that to me on Thursday when I fly to NY. Congrats on the Dodgers getting their very own stamp/zip code. Very cool.

I joke about not flying AA. I don’t really have a preference for one airline, I just try to get the cheapest I can get. Really the airlines do the best they can and mistakes do happen.
I’ve flown maybe 10 times since then and never once had a single problem outside of some crazy delays in Chicago last Christmas. It just sucks that the one time they lost my luggage in about 20 times total I’ve flown in the last 3 years it was the worst possible scenario.

    aducker,
Chicago is always an adventure in the winter. That is why I fly direct to N.H. To be honest, this is the first time it happens to me with American Airline.

I got my luggage! When I got back from work and dinner, The young lady at the front desk told me she put it inside my room. It is a good thing but it was nice having “casual Monday” just for me today. haha.

When you do the tour will you be able to get some pictures? Maybe some of the bloggers saying who they are. To tell the truth, I’m getting a little excited and I’m not even going. Especially good is McCourt getting the old guy to the event.

    Aducker,
I am so happy that I am reunited with the my luggage! It was such a pretty sunny day here in N.H. and now is raining and it will rain for the rest of the week. Oh well. I wanted to go check the Hollman’s stadium in Nashua but not with this rain. I was checking that schedule and Friday they are having Don Newcombe day. You know he pitched in that stadium and also Roy Campanella used to play there back when it was one of the few places they let blacks play. Pretty interesting story.

Knouff! I definetely will take pictures at the ITD tour and post here. I am so excited about the get together. Kudos to Mr. McCourt for bringing BrooklynDodger fan to L.A. I got to go check if he has made an appearance there.

Does anyone know where I can get a cancelled envelope with June 6th Dodgertown, California 90090? My son was married that day and he is a diehard Dodger fan. I’ve been a Dodger fan since 1952 and have a whole room in my home with Dodger memorabilia. I would love to get an envelope that was cancelled on his wedding day from Dodgertown. Thank you.
